Our Firm Belief
At Horizon House, we believe that everyone deserves the chance to live a fulfilling, self-directed life in the community, no matter their past or the challenges they face.
What began in 1952 as a small support group for people transitioning out of mental health hospitals has grown into a leading human services organization serving over 5,000 adults annually across Pennsylvania and Delaware. Inspired by the trailblazing vision of our founder, Marcella Schmoeger, Horizon House has always been guided by a bold and compassionate commitment: to meet people where they are and support them in building the life they want.
