Providence House Participant Renee Highlighted in CBS 3 Philadelphia Feature Story
We are beyond excited to share with you CBS Philadelphia’s feature story that aired on Horizon House participant Renee.
Renee is a Behavioral Health Services participant who attends group sessions at our Providence House location in Delaware County. She has struggled with mental illness for the better part of 40 years, but is now using her experiences and recovery to help others through her published self-help books.
Not only that, Renee is also using the books to give back to those who have helped her. She will not be taking any profit from her newest book, which was released on Amazon on Nov. 1. Instead, she intends to give back to the places that have helped her in her recovery.
You can see Renee’s story by clicking here.
We are so proud of you, Renee! Thank you for having the courage to tell your inspiring story!
Horizon House’s Regional Director for Behavioral Health Services Presents Workshop at Direct Support Professionals Conference
We are extremely proud to share that Horizon House’s own Marcie, our Regional Director for Behavioral Health Services, presented a workshop in front of 350 attendees at the recent Direct Support Professionals Conference, hosted by The Philadelphia Alliance of Community Services Providers.
Marcie’s workshop, entitled Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) 101: Learning How to Connect the Dots, focused on identifying and addressing Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) that impact those within the Serious Mental Illness (SMI) community at a higher rate. During the workshop, Marcie focused on informing attendees how to increase service outcomes by incorporating SDoH screening tools in their Intake process, so staff can develop robust recovery plans.
Marcie is a longtime member of the Horizon House family who has made an impact on both our organization and our participants over the years. Not only does she have a wealth of knowledge, but she also has a tremendous spirit for service.
Great job, Marcie!

Horizon House Named Eagles Community Redzone Partner of the Week vs. Miami
We were honored to be recognized at the Philadelphia Eagles game vs. Miami this past Sunday night as one of the Eagles Redzone Community Partners of the Week!
Sponsored by our great supporter Philadelphia Insurance Companies, this program recognizes nonprofits doing great work in communities around the Philadelphia region. We joined friends PA Youth Vote and The Arc of Delaware at the Linc to hand out info on our services and head out to the field to be recognized in front of a sold-out crowd.
And, of course, the Eagles won! A great day for all of us!
