It was a privilege to join Community College of Philadelphia, Wilco Electronic Systems, PCs for People and Mission First Housing Group in hosting a ribbon-cutting for a new 5G antenna tower to be installed atop our New Market West Service Headquarters in West Philadelphia!
Philadelphia City Councilmember Curtis Jones, Jr., Horizon House executives and other affiliated officials joined us to give remarks and celebrate the project, which was made possible by the Community College of Philadelphia and a grant the school received from the US Department of Commerce’s National Telecommunications and Information Administration. This project is 100 percent covered by the grant.
This tower will help bridge the digital gap in the West Philadelphia community we call home by increasing wireless broadband infrastructure, expanding community-based broadband internet access, making vital digital equipment more easily accessible and providing digital literacy education.
As part of this project, eligible local residents were also invited to come to New Market Westy and collect new laptops and sign up for free high-speed internet access.
Thank you to all who made this wonderful project and event possible!
