Housing First Treatment Teams Hold Narcan Training Clinics in Philadelphia Communities
Our Housing First Treatment Teams, which are part of Horizon House’s Homeless Services Division, have been out in our communities holding Narcan trainings for participants in case they come across someone suffering an opioid overdose episode.
These trainings have helped participants recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and administer Narcan, the overdose reversal drug, in the case of an emergency situation. The trainings are brought to the participants in their communities and encourage the participants to be honest and ask as many questions as they want.
Pictured above is the most recent Narcan training, which was held in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. This successful training even included free water ice and soft pretzels, perfect snacks for those who took part on a hot day in the city.
What a great idea from the Housing First Treatment Teams!
